Primo is a coming-of-age story that follows a San Antonio teenager who is trying to balance his college aspirations, societal expectations, and the demands of his hectic home life. The show is based on the real-life experiences of Shea Serrano, who grew up in San Antonio with his single mom and five uncles.
Paez’s character, Denise, plays a key role in the series as she navigates her own challenges and provides support and guidance to the main character.

Adela Paez was born and raised in the Imperial Valley, near the border of Mexicali, Baja California. She attended Calexico High School and further went on to study at California State University Fullerton, where she graduated with a degree in Political Science.
