Bionic Buzz® covered the red carpet for a screening of “Pepito’s America” at The Cats Crawl in Los Angeles a new comedic series created by and starring Carlos Moreno Jr. as “Pepito’s America” kicking off with a red carpet screening for cast & crew.

The series stars “Transformers” and “Coco” actor Carlos Moreno Jr. in the lead role of Pepito, who is Mexico’s beloved funny character from the humorous and internationally known Pepito jokes. “Yes, we’re bringing Pepito to Hollywood with a modern twist,” said Moreno Jr. With various episodes already available online, “the series is creating a buzz and attracting famous stars, some are here tonight, orale!(right on)

The event screened six episodes presented under the banner ‘Pepito’s Mamadas”, a “mini-series” including the soon-to-be-released “Campaign Madness” with stars: Tommy and Shelby Chong (Cheech & Chong), Peter Kwong (The Golden Child) and award-winning actress Jacqueline Murphy (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), who’s also credited as a producer, writer & director.

In “Campaign Madness” the games begin when Pepito (Carlos Moreno Jr) is hired by Councilwoman Miriam Price (Jacqueline Murphy) to create a campaign ad for her run for Mayor of LA.

At first, it’s a disaster until Pepito shows Miriam and her Campaign team the finished ad.

At a loss for words Miriam tries to bridge the cultural gap by speaking in different languages and blurts out “Oh! La la!! Come se dice, que pasa??” describing Pepito’s creative spot as “Scorcese-esque” and brilliant!

Pepito (Carlos Moreno) and Miriam (Jacqueline Murphy) comedic skills and chemistry play off of each other beautifully as they get caught up helping each other to succeed in different worlds.

At the meeting, Miriam’s big-time financial donors played by Tommy and Shelby Chong add to the laughter as they invite Pepito on their yacht to meet Ron Howard and Steven Spielberg and bump fists with Pepito saying “no mames”(You’re kidding me!).

Stay tuned for more episodes of “Pepito’s America” for plenty of kidding, laughs, and fun!

Joining them on the red carpet were “Borat” actor Ken Davitian and Amazon’s “Narco Sub” actor Jon Fiore, both set to appear in future episodes of Pepito’s Mamadas.

Maria Conchita Alonso, an award-winning actress (The Running Man, Predator 2) is also attached to the project and plays Pepito’s grandmother.

Moreno Jr. and Murphy said “Pepito’s America” will submit for this year’s Emmy Awards, presented by the Television Academy.

Other Pepito cast members walking the red carpet included: Bernardo Verdugo (Pam and Tommy), Carlos Pineiro, Adriana Fricke, Luella Hill, Vivianne Nacif,  Dawn Church, Iris Svis, James Forbis, Joycelyne Lew, and Traci Lynn Cowan. They were joined by Pepito’s Mamadas’ writer Thomas Edward Connolly and publicist Zuzana Korda.

Other cast in the series are Trevor Lapaglia (The Disappointments) Brett Stimely (Parkland), Kari Nissena (Callous, Actor Transformation), and Roquel La Fayette (Abbot Elementary, The Bold and the Beautiful) and Bollywood Star Vishal Sing.
