Ahead of their upcoming album, Accidentally Fetishized out May 16, rock outfit Reverse Pathogen have released their latest single, “Guitar Cable Technical.” The earworm was born from multihyphenate Clayton Thomas’ ability to make do with an incorrect guitar cable. The happy accident gives the track its unique sound.

However, the track did not start truly coming together until legendary drummer Josh Freese (Foo Fighters, Devo, Vandals) laid down his part. Mixing both real and programmed drums on the record makes a nostalgic sound that is reminiscent of indie icons like The Strokes and The Arctic Monkeys.

Entirely self-produced by Clayton with Josh Freese on drums throughout, Accidentally Fetishized is a bold statement against the sanitization of modern rock. It champions organic instrumentation and vintage production, rejecting today’s overproduced sound.

Clayton Thomas, previously Ghostluvme (303k), found success in the hip hop space before following his passion back to his rock roots. Fighting plastic punk with analog grit, Clayton’s baritone vocals, vintage mixing techniques, and raw instrumentation breathes a new life into rock. As a former D1 football star who left college to pursue music, Clayton embodies the spirit of rebellion that fuels the album’s raw energy.

The lead single, “Bleed For This,” is an anthem of defiance, rejecting the superficiality of modern punk rock culture. “It’s about anti-image, anti-clout,” shares Clayton. “It stands against fake wannabe punk rockers and celebrates real rock music and authentic rebellion.” Listen to “Bleed For This” now: https://onerpm.link/234025509093
