Bionic Buzz® interviewed LOVEBREAKERS members Jack Perry and Christian O’Reilly over zoom with special co-host DJ Rossstar. Formed in 2018 in Birmingham, England, LOVEBREAKERS sound is akin to guitar bands of yesteryear, such as Tom Petty, Cheap Trick and The Buzzcocks. Their songs are intentionally timeless and once you start listening to any of their songs, you know you are listening to LOVEBREAKERS. Their first record ‘Primary Colours’ was recorded in Los Angeles with Davey Warsop (Alkaline Trio, The Used) and it caught the ears of Social Distortion punk icon Mike Ness. Ness personally asked the band to open on their long awaited, mammoth European tour across the summer of 2022, playing sold out clubs and iconic arenas. The lead singles ‘Horizons’ & ‘Laura’ went on to gain national radio play from BBC Radio’s Jack Saunders and Steve Lamacq. Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day also included the song ‘Family Man’ on his personal Spotify playlist – Oakland Coffee.
LOVEBREAKERS second album ‘Wonder’ was recorded at Broadfield Studios with producer Thomas Mitchener (Frank Carter, NOAHFINNCE) and is mixed by double Grammy award winner Chris Dugan (Green Day, Iggy Pop). The first three singles ‘Isolation Summer’, ’Spark’, & ‘Attracted To Your Fashion’ are out now via Sabbath City Records with the full-length album planned for a late 2023 release.
