Bionic Buzz had the privilege of covering Escape The Fate with Emo Orchestra at the Plaza Live in Orlando, and let me tell you, in all my years of attending concerts, nothing quite compares to the experience I had at this one. While I’ve frequented numerous EMO NIGHTS over the years, typically featuring a DJ spinning a playlist of classic emo and pop-punk tunes from the 2000s, and even witnessed cover bands belting out these beloved anthems live, nothing prepared me for the fusion of a band from that scene performing alongside a full-piece orchestra.
Initially, I anticipated Escape The Fate to predominantly play their own hits from that era. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the diversity of the setlist, which included covers from the likes of Fall Out Boy, New Found Glory, My Chemical Romance, Underoath, A Day to Remember, The Used, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Hawthorne Heights, and many more. Notably, both Escape The Fate and the orchestra delivered performances brimming with energy and passion.
For those of us who have been immersed in the emo culture for years, the concert was a nostalgic journey that began promptly at 8 PM, featured a well-timed intermission, and concluded before 10 PM, catering perfectly to our slightly older demographic (like myself). I wholeheartedly recommend this extraordinary concert experience to fans of Escape The Fate and emo enthusiasts alike.
