Bionic Buzz® interviewed Clayton Thomas from the band Reverse Pathogen over Zoom. We talked about his single “Bleed for This, “a fresh yet uncompromising take on classic rock. It is an anthem against the hollow spectacle of today’s manufactured “punk,” acting as a battle cry against the commercialization of rock. It’s a middle finger to the fake, and a love letter to the real. Inspired by the ‘hey mans’ of Bowie’s “Suffragette City”, the track takes aim at the gimmick-laden, novelty-driven state of modern rock.
Clayton’s baritone lead vocals and vintage-style mixing brings warmth, grit, and storytelling back to rock. With millions of streams on the debut album, the upcoming album, Accidentally Fetishized drops this May. Entirely self produced by Clayton with the legendary Josh Freese (Foo Fighters, Devo, Vandals) on drums, the full length is a defiant push against the sanitization of modern rock, and a testament to artistic independence and authenticity.
Sole member Clayton Thomas leads Reverse Pathogen with the goal of bringing back what’s been lost: A return to real: real instruments and real feeling — reviving rock to its purest form. Previously known as ghostluvme, Clayton found success in the hip hop space before returning to his rock roots.
