Bionic Buzz® got to cover The Hollywood Museum’s Classic Car Show in the parking lot of the parking lot next to Mel’s Drive In in Hollywood, CA. Donelle Dadigan (Founder/President of The Hollywood Museum) in conjunction with the Great Autos Car Club, hosted the event that highlighted famous TV/FILM cars on exhibit inside the museum. The event encouraged patrons to visit not only the famous cars in the museum, but also stimulate the tourism for the area hit so badly by the pandemic over the last two years. Prior to 2020,
an average of 10 million tourists and fans would visit a 15-block stretch of Hollywood Boulevard every year to see the Walk of Fame, The Hollywood Museum and more. Today, it is anything but business as usual for the popular sites. The Hollywood Museum (a 501 C3) was closed for 22 months during the pandemic and many other venues were not as lucky to re-open.
Our host Virag Vida got to interview Geoffrey Mark Fidelman (Author, Writer, Director & Producer), Donelle Dadigan (Founder & President of The Hollywood Museum), Mike Parente (Vice President of Great Autos Car Club of Southern California), Stuart Suede (Member of Great Autos Car Club of Southern California), Ruta Lee (Author and Actress from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers), Carolyn Hennesy (Actress from General Hospital & Big Nate), Anson Williams (Actor from Happy Days. Director from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Episodes), Kate Linder (Actress from The Young and the Restless & Donna on the Go) and Burt Hermey (Member of Great Autos Car Club of Southern California).
ABOUT GREAT AUTOS: Great Autos is one of the largest car clubs on the West Coast with almost 1,000 members, owning over 2,600 cars. This diverse organization was formed in 1983 by veteran car collectors Ted Davidson and Herb Rothman who, though active in other clubs, felt the community should have a club that could serve as both a social gathering place and means of bringing together individuals who share a unique enthusiasm for the automobile and its preservation. The Great Autos family member ranges in age from 18 to over 80, with most makes, models and years of cars represented in our ranks. While we are mostly in Southern California, Great Autos members hail from across the USA, as well as Canada and Europe. Don’t own a classic or special interest vehicle? No problem—-you only need to possess the appreciation and the desire to share your enthusiasm to be part of the Great Autos family! http://greatautos.org
