House of Film has acquired worldwide distribution rights to the highly anticipated sci-fi feature Fugitive from Asteron, it was announced today.
The boutique sales and distribution company will introduce Winged Victory Foundation’s latest feature to international buyers at the upcoming Marché du Film during the Cannes Film Festival.
“We are thrilled to partner with House of Film to bring Fugitive from Asteron to audiences worldwide,” comments Gen LaGreca, founder, Winged Victory Foundation. “This story has always been deeply personal to me—an interplanetary adventure that also explores freedom, identity, and the courage to rebuild one’s life —and it’s incredibly rewarding to see it come to life with such a talented team. House of Film’s global reach and passion for independent cinema make them the ideal partner for this journey.”
Directed by Dan T. Hall (Noble Vision, Greek Fire – Demon Spirit) and adapted from LaGreca’s award-winning novel, Fugitive from Asteron stars Henry Ian Cusick (Lost, The 100, MacGyver), Rory Gibson (The Young and the Restless), Morgan Bradley (The Food That Built America), and Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman). The ensemble cast also includes Jamie Stilwell (Through the Modern Looking Glass) and Jim Krueger (Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks), with casting by Paul Ruddy.
“Fugitive from Asteron is exactly the kind of elevated, thought-provoking sci-fi we look for—visually compelling, emotionally grounded, and globally resonant,” adds Ava B, president/CEO, House of Film. “With a star-driven cast led by Henry Ian Cusick, Rory Gibson, Morgan Bradley, and Dean Cain, the film brings both scale and powerful performances to the screen. We’re excited to introduce this standout project to buyers at Cannes and beyond.”
Fugitive from Asteron follows young pilot Arial (Gibson), who escapes the oppressive Planet Asteron by stealing a spacecraft belonging to its tyrannical ruler, Feran (Cusick). Arriving on a future Earth under the alias Alexander, he carries a mysterious cargo tied to a secret plan that could determine humanity’s future. As Feran pursues him, Alexander joins forces with pilot Kristin Merrett (Bradley) to uncover the truth behind the cargo and confront a far-reaching and devastating conspiracy to destroy the Earth. Dean Cain portrays Mykronie Whitman, a former Asteron escapee and head of the Interplanetary Travel Division of Merrett Aerospace Systems, who hires Alexander and becomes his father-like mentor. Blending exotic adventure, thrilling action, and a hopeful core, Fugitive from Asteron speaks to a global audience seeking both excitement and meaning.
The project is produced by Hall, with associate producer D. Paul Thomas (Of Things Past), cinematography by Mark David (American Cowslip), and line production by Pauline Jones (Jurassic Domination). The film is executive produced by Gen LaGreca through her company, Winged Victory Foundation.
