Gettysburg 1863, written and directed by Bo Brinkman, is an intimate Civil War drama that brings the Battle of Gettysburg and its aftermath to life through the experiences of civilians caught in the crossfire. When a young man leaves Gettysburg to join the cavalry, he believes the war will remain far from home. Instead, in the summer of 1863, Confederate forces invade the town, placing the woman he loves and her family in grave danger.

As Gettysburg’s community binds together amid loss and hardship, families cling to faith, compassion, and one another, while the soldier faces his own struggle to survive far from home. Told through parallel journeys, Gettysburg 1863 is a story of love tested by war, moral courage in the face of injustice, and the power of hope and joy even in the darkest of times.
