Bionic Buzz® covered a special advance screening of “Civil War” at the Bullock Texas State History Museum IMAX theater in Austin, TX. The screening took place right after the world premiere at the Paramount Theater in downtown Austin, TX and was followed by an after party inside the museum. After the screening the cast & crew did a panel to talk about the film.

“Civil War” is a gripping and thought-provoking film that offers a chilling glimpse into a dystopian future that feels all too plausible.

Director and writer Alex Garland skillfully crafts a narrative that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats, while leaving certain aspects of the political landscape shrouded in mystery, adding to the film’s eerie realism.

Set in a future where the American middle class has been reduced to poverty and the President, portrayed brilliantly by Nick Offerman, refuses to relinquish power after serving three terms, “Civil War” follows the journey of Lee, played by Kirsten Dunst, a legendary war-time photojournalist, and her colleague Joel, portrayed by Wagner Moura, as they set out to interview the President. Along the way, they are joined by the aspiring photographer Priscilla, played by Cailee Spaeny, whose idealized vision of war-time journalism is shattered as she experiences the harsh realities firsthand.

The film is a thrilling rollercoaster ride from start to finish, filled with jump scares and intense, bloody scenes that keep viewers glued to the screen. Garland’s direction infuses “Civil War” with the same tense atmosphere that made his previous film, “28 Days Later,” so memorable, creating an immersive experience that lingers long after the credits roll.

Overall, “Civil War” is a must-see for anyone craving a gripping, dystopian thriller that hits close to home. With its stellar performances, intense action sequences, and thought-provoking themes, it’s a film that demands to be seen on the big screen. Mark your calendars for April 12th and experience the chilling world of “Civil War” for yourself.
