VidCon, where the world’s leading digital creators, platform innovators, and their fans converge in one place, today announced final details around its first-ever East Coast event, VidCon Baltimore, taking place Sept 28 – Oct 1, 2023 at the Baltimore Convention Center. Leveraging Baltimore’s proximity to the Washington DC area, Christian Tom, Assistant to the President and Director of the White House Office of Digital Strategy, will serve as the show’s opening keynote where he will delve into his team’s innovative collaborations with creators and influencers aimed at reaching and engaging a new generation of Americans in the democratic process.

“Our efforts to reach all Americans online are rooted in meeting people where they are. This increasingly means not only by creating White House content from White House channels, but also working with a wide range of creators, on topics that matter to them and their audiences,” said Christian Tom, Assistant to the President and Director of the White House Office of Digital Strategy. “It’s hard to think of a better way to engage with the creator community than VidCon, and we are thrilled to be attending this year’s VidCon Baltimore.”

In addition to the White House collaboration, skincare expert and multimedia creator Hyram Yarbro will join a mainstage panel of experts to discuss the competitive world of creator-led businesses and explore if all creators should become entrepreneurs. Hyram joins a robust list of creators attending the event including Merrell Twins, Kiran & Nivi, Molly Burke, Doctor Mike, Jessica McCabe “How to ADHD,” streamers Vaush and Destiny along with local Baltimore creators Rich Black Guy, Jordan Ramsey, Danielle Sylvester, and many others (full list here).

On the main expo show floor, attendees will experience a range of branded activations from a variety of brands like PBS, Sune and Milk. PBS’s Nature series will bring to life its upcoming four-part “Spy in the Ocean” miniseries with an immersive experience for fans and families, who can interact with the animatronic spy creatures that will be featured on PBS and the PBS app beginning Wednesday, Oct. 25. Sune, a new next-generation video shopping platform, will bring its mobile app to life IRL, outfitting four rooms, each portraying an element of the brand and breadth of product assortment available on the app. Attendees will have the chance to win prizes and swag and participate in unique photo moments. As the performance drink of gamers and official sponsor of VidCon Baltimore, Milk (@gonnaneedmilk) has created an immersive on-site experience where gamers can play the first of its kind FFA Fortnite Map called Zany Ziplines that Milk created in response to gamer requests. Attendees will get the chance to play the map, pick up exclusive swag, and win prizes.

“We are looking forward to kicking off VidCon Baltimore in just a few days,” said Jacques Keyser, Programming Director, VidCon. “We’ve been able to curate a fantastic lineup of creators and industry experts while capitalizing on Baltimore’s proximity to Washington to create an experience we think attendees will enjoy and also get a lot of value out of.”

As VidCon continues to explore programming that drives the industry forward, Baltimore will serve as the home of the first “Industry Leadership Summit.” Co-hosted by Jacques Keyser, Programming Director, VidCon and industry expert Jim Louderback, the exclusive gathering of key stakeholders will discuss the future of the Creator Economy and collaborate around critical industry issues in an off-the-record environment.
