Bionic Buzz was sent an advance screener of The Muppet Show, and it’s clear from the very first moments that this beloved series still knows exactly who it is—and why it matters. Whether you’re an old-school Muppet fan who grew up with Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Fozzie, or a newer viewer tuning in to check out the legendary guest stars, The Muppet Show honors its past while remaining effortlessly entertaining.

What makes The Muppet Show timeless is its perfect balance of chaos and charm. The backstage mayhem, quick-witted banter, musical numbers, and fourth-wall-breaking humor all feel just as sharp today as they did decades ago. Kermit’s calm-under-pressure leadership, Miss Piggy’s unapologetic confidence, and Fozzie’s lovable attempts at comedy remain the beating heart of the show.

One of the biggest highlights is the rotating lineup of celebrity guests. The first episode features a very special guest, Sabrina Carpenter, along with memorable cameos from Seth Rogen—who also serves as an executive producer—and Maya Rudolph. These appearances never feel gimmicky; instead, they enhance the classic variety-show format and fully embrace the absurdity, allowing the Muppets to shine rather than be overshadowed.

A personal standout moment was the sketch “Pigs in Wigs,” which easily became my favorite skit of the episode. The segment is delightfully absurd and elevated even further by the presence of one of my all-time favorite Muppets, Pepé the King Prawn. Pepé’s razor-sharp delivery opposite Miss Piggy is laugh-out-loud funny and makes the sketch an instant highlight.

At its core, The Muppet Show is about creativity, collaboration, and finding humor in imperfection. It doesn’t rely on nostalgia alone—it earns its place by being genuinely funny, musically engaging, and surprisingly heartfelt.

Final Thoughts:
The Muppet Show is more than a classic—it’s a reminder of how powerful simple, character-driven entertainment can be. It respects longtime fans while remaining accessible to new audiences, making it a must-watch for anyone who appreciates smart comedy, iconic characters, and pure joy.
