Bionic Buzz® covered VidCon Baltimore at the Baltimore Convention Center in Downtown Baltimore, MD. This is the very first VidCon on the east coast! VidCon is where the world’s leading digital creators, platform innovators, and their fans converge in one place. It’s the magic of online creators in real life!

VidCon is where everyone involved in that online magic comes together, in real life and in real time. The creators, the fans, the brands, all of us in one place — sometimes gathering in-person in cities all over the world, and sometimes connecting virtually. But always completely in-the-moment.

There we got to interview Philip Dalton (Executive Producer of PBS’s Spy in the Ocean) and Matthew Gordon (Series Producer of PBS’s Spy in the Ocean) at their booth at VidCon Baltimore.

The ocean depths are full of mysteries, but luckily there are intrepid spies up to the task of discovering them for us. Go on a mission deep beneath the waves in Spy in the Ocean, a Nature Miniseries. They use robotics that look like animals with cameras that can get closer than any human can in nature. Spy Whale used the latest subsea technology. Its main features include a robotic spine to help power and steer it and a sophisticated buoyancy system for dynamic control down to depths of 30 meters. To coordinate all of these automated systems, a powerful computer brain was also needed.

Watch it on Wednesdays, October 25 – November 15 at 8/7c on PBS https://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/collections/spy-in-the-ocean/
