New Orleans’ Black Owl Theory

Black Owl Theory formed late-summer 2018 amidst the clothes racks of the Oak Street clothing store, GLUE. Jeff and Tabitha tried their fate at co-writing and struck gold: sparking song after song, night after night.

Their passion was infectious, attracting Len, a powerhouse on the drums. His solid dedication and edgy vibe turned the tunes into budding pop anthems. By fall 2018 the group was really flying high with the addition of Nate, a multi-instrumentalist who holds the groove on bass guitar.

The project then took on an energy of its own. Black Owl Theory recorded 15 tracks in the early months of 2019. In production now, a handful of tracks with be released as singles, a prelude to the full LP to be released July 27, 2019.

“Last Chances for Lost Causes” is a work of clandestine rawness that emotes via multiple rock genres and inspires a sense of instant nostalgia. Look out for for funky hooks followed by soul-soothing harmonic chording; indulge in gut-wrenching guitar leads chased by hauntingly emotional melodies.

Expect Black Owl Theory to collaborate in experiential events that include artistry from diverse and unexpected sources such as dance, visual arts, and theater. Rooted and rising in New Orleans, we are always looking to make new inspiring connections.

The band writes and produces all-original rock music independently. The uniqueness of the sound inspired Black Owl Theory to present itself under a new rock genre: POPPY ROCK. Who do you think we sound like?
