Singer-Songwriter Liam Grae released the new music video for his latest single “Typical” on March 7th. The beautiful black & white video was shot at FD Studios in Downtown Los Angeles and directed by Leo Deveney. “Typical” was co-written with Tommy Parker (Janet Jackson, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande) and produced by Todd Bergman (Alessia Cara, Nicki Minaj, Foster the People) and Andrew Furze (So You Think You Can Dance, The X Factor.)

Reflecting on the release, Grae comments: “As I was preparing to make a video for my newest single “Typical,” I knew I wanted to work with Leo Deveney (who is one of the most talented videographers in Los Angeles). As he and I were discussing treatments for the video…we both collectively thought of making the video “atypical” of what people expected… Many people would hear the song and picture some scantily-clad woman in a bed, covered in mink furs, all the while there are hoards of women waiting in line to take her place. We decided to focus on the beauty of simplicity. We shot the video in black & white, and focused on clean lines and angles, which allowed stunning contrast between the visual and the auditory elements of the video. We found an amazing dancer, (Drew Adams), who was able to bring our vision to life with her choreography, as she intertwined ballet with contemporary to further add dimension to the track. Overall, we wanted the video to match my musical style… old-school sentiments placed in a modern world.”

“Typical,” was released on February 12th, 2019 and follows his debut single “Uniform.”

As a singer-songwriter, Liam’s songs touch on what it means to be a young man in a modern world – combining humor and heart in equal measure. Collaborating with some of the most exciting pop writers in LA, Liam Grae’s love of classic rat-pack singers and pop-icons has him picking up where George Michael and Robin Thicke left off.
