Wow. Wow. Wow. This was my very first year attending House of Torment in Austin, Texas, and it completely exceeded every expectation I had.
All three mazes were absolutely PACKED with live actors—jumping out of the most unexpected places and keeping me on edge the entire time. The set designs were stunningly detailed and immersive, and each maze felt like it went on forever. I was constantly switching between screaming in fright and smiling with excitement.
What impressed me most was how each maze felt like stepping directly into a horror movie. From atmosphere to scares, they checked every box of what I consider the perfect haunted attraction.
And the experience doesn’t stop once you exit the mazes. The outside area is just as entertaining, filled with live actors, creepy props, and even an evil clown DJ spinning his favorite jams to keep the spooky vibes going.
House of Torment runs until November 9, and after such an unforgettable night, I’m already planning to return closer to Halloween for another round of thrills and chills.
