Bionic Buzz® got to cover South by Southwest® in Austin, TX. SXSW dedicates itself to helping creative people achieve their goals. Founded in 1987 in Austin, Texas, SXSW® is best known for its conference and festivals that celebrate the convergence of tech, film, music, education, and culture. An essential destination for global professionals, the annual March event features sessions, music and comedy showcases, film screenings, exhibitions, professional development, and a variety of networking opportunities. SXSW proves that the most unexpected discoveries happen when diverse topics and people come together.

There we got to interview Catherine Eng from Our Worlds. OurWorlds is a communication platform using extended reality to transform public and private spaces into interactive environments. They are activating content in select cities and locations around the world. This is being done for educational purposes, as well as entertainment. OurWorlds will continue to showcase an ever expanding selection of contributors and performances, beginning with a series dedicated to Native Americans.

Their project “CHIEF”, was in competition at the SXSW film festival. American Indian Tribes broke the glass ceiling of female leadership, long ago. The strength of our community is a result of the connection between motherhood and leadership. Nurturing a community with soft-skills like listening and compassion. For me the production is special because of the story around Female Chiefs. This film was developed for the all new Apple Vision Pro. After trying it out we got to interview Catherine Eng about “CHIEF.”

Their goal is to use technology to transform communication methods as well as enhance human understanding and information retention. Humans respond physiologically to their environment; while mixed reality is still in its infancy, it nonetheless offers users a palpable sense of presence and engagement, and is scientifically proven to radically alter the way viewers understand and retain content such as history, culture, art, performances, or current events. They seek to alter existing public and private environments.
