Maryland rock band VEER has teamed up with Baltimore-based distillery Old Line Sprits to release their collaborative VEER Rock n’ Roll Vodka this spring. The vodka is a result of several months’ collaboration between the band and the distillery.

“It’s the perfect fit,” explains Jon Malfi, VEER’s drummer. “VEER is a very Maryland-centric band, and then there’s Old Line Spirits, Baltimore-based, doing amazing things. We hit it off with the Old Line guys from the start and we’re all so happy to get this product out there.”

“We can proudly stamp MADE IN MARYLAND right on the label,” says bassist Christian Mathis.

“Right next to our faces,” adds guitarist Ryan Fowler, with a chuckle.

The band will have a soft release of the vodka on Friday, May 13, prior to it being available in stores and restaurants, at the distillery, located at 200 S. Janney Street in Baltimore. The event will begin with a cocktail hour before VEER take the stage for an intimate acoustic performance. Tickets for the May 13 event are $40 apiece, and include a bottle of the vodka, a “lush pack” of merchandise, and a ticket to the band’s May 28 concert. They can be purchased directly from the band’s website: https://www.veerband.net/tickets.html.

VEER, who formed in 2016, currently sit at the top of the mid-Atlantic music scene while also enjoying international success. In December 2018, the band released their debut album, Apocalyptic, Baby, which immediately broke the Amazon Top 100 rock albums, and saw singles like “Douse,” “Breathe,” and “Power Drive” chart both domestically and abroad. That same month they received the award for Best Rock Artist from the Maryland Music Awards, where the band closed out the awards show at Rams Head Live! in Baltimore. Their song “Come Clean” was awarded Best Rock Song in the Winter of 2019 by the World Songwriting Awards, an international organization that promotes and recognizes songwriting in various genres throughout 129 countries. In 2021, the International Singer Songwriter Association awarded them the bronze award for US Band of the Year. Most recently, the band has released two singles, “Red Tide” and “Science,” from their highly anticipated sophomore album, Soft Machines.

They continue to be the go-to support act for national recording artists coming through Maryland, and have shared the stage with Puddle of Mudd, Fuel, Sponge, Eve to Adam, 40 Below Summer, Trapt, Buckcherry, and many more.
