

Den of Ashes is the name of singer/songwriter Ash. He is the grandson of early country and western performers John & “Texas Peggy” Clemens / The Wyoming Ramblers circa 1940s-1950s who shared the stage and friendships with The Carter Family, Johnny Cash, Tex Ritter and Patsy Cline.
Den of Ashes’s ‘CALIFORNIA’ is a unique and intimate exploration into the human condition. The moody melodic songs are about lost moments in time.
Like a photograph,Ash see pictures when he writes and articulates them into lyrics. Each song holds a unique mood. There is a rare loneliness that within the deep rich vocals and western tonality. All of these songs collectively exist in the Den of Ashes.
His latest album ‘CALIFORNIA‘ is the follow-up to Den of Ashes’ prior EP, Blackbird, which rose to #10 on one of Europe’s largest streaming services, Yandex Music (just behind Tom Petty in 2016) and reached #21 on iTunes New Rock Releases in May of 2015. The album is a vast exploration into the Western landscape both past and present. Famed pedal steel player Greg Liesz graces the new album along with Lili Haydn on violin, Dan Rothschild on bass, Alex Alessandroni on piano and Ash on Vocals, Guitar and Harmonica.
Ash has worked on ground-breaking iconic music videos which include visual effects for Beck’s “Devil’s Haircut,” Madonna’s “Bed Time Stories” and Nine Inch Nails’ “Closer” and contributed to the visual design of Michael and Janet Jackson’s video, “Scream,” which won a Grammy Award for “Best Music Video, Short Form” and is the most expensive music video ever made.
As the Visualist for Shania Twain’s “I’m Gonna Getcha Good” music video, Ash wrote the concept for the video which won “Concept Video of the Year” at the 2003 CMT Flameworthy Awards and “Best Video of the Year Award” at the 2003 Canadian Country Music Awards.
