Bionic Buzz® covered South by Southwest in Austin, Texas! 🎬 At the iconic Paramount Theatre, we attended the world premiere of the horror/comedy Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. The crowd was buzzing with excitement, eager to experience the sequel to the hit Ready or Not alongside the film’s cast and crew.
Personally, I was especially curious going in, as I had never seen the first film. I was concerned I might feel lost, but the movie does a great job bringing new viewers up to speed, making it accessible without sacrificing momentum.
The film is a wild, entertaining ride that leans heavily into its blend of horror and comedy. There’s plenty of over-the-top gore—clearly enhanced by the filmmakers’ use of practical blood effects—but the tone stays more fun than frightening. It feels less like a traditional horror film and more like a roller coaster at a theme park: thrilling, chaotic, and designed for pure entertainment.
The cast delivers across the board. Elijah Wood brings a delightfully eerie and quirky presence to his role, while Sarah Michelle Gellar shines as Ursula Danforth, channeling a sharp, commanding energy reminiscent of her iconic performance in Cruel Intentions. Kathryn Newton shares standout chemistry with Samara Weaving—their dynamic feels so natural you’d think they were real-life sisters.
