
Bionic Buzz® had the honor of covering the I-Drive Chamber of Commerce General Meeting Luncheon at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, located right next door to Magic Kingdom. The afternoon featured a spectacular Disney dining experience, exciting announcements about upcoming Walt Disney World projects, and even some magical surprises.

A Culinary Journey with a Disney Twist
Guests were treated to a three-course Disney-inspired menu:

Wayfinder Salad Course – Motunui Island Greens with Tajin-dusted pineapple, shredded coconut, macadamia nut crumb, tomato, goat cheese, and citrus passionfruit vinaigrette.

Arendelle Entrée – Slow-simmered beef with Nordic red wine sauce, fennel parsley ragout, forest mushroom barley sauté, and carrot-parsnip gratin.

Rapunzel Dessert – Caramelized chocolate mousse with lemon curd, mango gel, and white chocolate sponge cake.

Each guest also received a sparkling swag bag filled with a Starlight Parade tote, poster, and a star-shaped Rice Krispies treat—a perfect touch of Disney magic.

A D23-Level Disney Presentation
Eric Watkins, Director of Travel Industry Sales & Marketing for Disney, along with beloved Disney character actors, took the stage to reveal exciting updates coming to Walt Disney World. The presentation felt like a “mini D23 Expo,” filled with energy, surprises, and announcements fans have been dreaming about. They were so good, I got a photo with them afterwards.

GEO-82 Lounge (EPCOT)
An elevated, adults-only lounge now located inside Spaceship Earth. This unique experience celebrates EPCOT’s history (the “82” stands for 1982, the park’s opening year) while offering futuristic cocktails and cuisine. Guests can also book the GEO-82 Fireworks Experience, which provides premium seating for Luminous: The Symphony of Us and includes curated food-and-drink towers.

Test Track – Reimagined (EPCOT)
After a 13-month refurbishment, Test Track returns with a bold new look:

Tribute to the Past – Concept cars and GM history are highlighted in the queue, nodding back to the original “World of Motion.”

Interactive Elements – Updated design bays and concept sketches give guests hands-on inspiration. (Note: Disney retired the car-design station, a fan-favorite, but enhanced displays make up for it.)

Next-Gen Ride Scenes – The indoor track now features advanced sensor simulations, dazzling lighting, and a futuristic score. Expect sleek, high-tech environments showcasing the mobility of tomorrow.

The Beak and Barrel Tavern (Magic Kingdom)
A brand-new pirate tavern experience in Adventureland. Guests can sip tropical drinks, enjoy small plates, and interact with live performers who weave pirate storytelling into the experience. Think of it as a hybrid of a bar, character spot, and mini-show.

Disney Starlight Parade (Magic Kingdom)
Disney World’s first new nighttime parade in decades! Guests can also purchase interactive magic wands at the Emporium, which sync with the Starlight Parade to bring an extra touch of enchantment to the experience.

Led by the Blue Fairy, the parade features a new original theme mixed with beloved Disney music.

Characters from both classics (Peter Pan, Pinocchio, Aladdin) and modern favorites (Encanto, Moana) appear in glowing splendor.

The finale includes a whimsical train float inspired by the Main Street Electrical Parade, shimmering with fiber optics and LED magic.

Cinderella Castle Paint Update (Magic Kingdom)
The 50th Anniversary pink-and-blue look is being replaced with a classic gray, cream, blue, and gold palette. This change restores the castle to a more timeless, storybook appearance while enhancing its details in Florida’s bright sunlight.

Carousel of Progress – Walt Disney Animatronic (Magic Kingdom)
For the first time ever, Walt Disney himself will appear inside the Carousel of Progress as an Audio-Animatronic figure. Walt will welcome guests in a brand-new introductory scene, honoring his vision of progress and the legacy of the attraction first introduced at the 1964 World’s Fair.

TRON: Ares Overlay (Magic Kingdom)
For a limited time, TRON Lightcycle / Run has been reprogrammed into a Tron: Ares-themed adventure, featuring:

New color palette – glowing red and orange light trails.

Exclusive soundtrack – scored with electronic tracks from Nine Inch Nails.

Story tie-in – Riders are thrust into Ares’ battle simulation, expanding the TRON storyline beyond the Grid.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Refurbishment (Magic Kingdom, Reopening 2026)
Disney is giving “The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” a major update:

Track Overhaul – A smoother ride with rebuilt track sections.

Enhanced Effects – Caverns filled with glowing stalactites, stalagmites, and phosphorescent pools.

Tributes to Disney History – Features inspired by the Rainbow Caverns from Disneyland’s Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland.

Exterior Update – Adjustments to better blend with the new Piston Peak Cars Land expansion.

The updated attraction brings the ride closer to Disneyland’s Astro Blasters:

Redesigned ride vehicles – brighter colors and integrated scoring monitors.

Always-On Laser Blasters – no more pulling triggers to “charge.”

Enhanced Targets – More responsive visuals with animated effects when hit.

Improved Sound & Feedback – Blasters now rumble and targets flash dramatically.

Villains Land (Magic Kingdom)
Finally confirmed! Villains get their own domain with a darker, more thrilling edge:

Immersive Design – A magical realm where heroes are nowhere to be found.

Major Attractions – At least two headline rides are in development, rumored to include a Maleficent dragon experience and a dark fortress thrill ride.

Stage Show – Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, led by the Magic Mirror, where audiences vote on which villain has been “treated the most unfairly.”
- Disney Legend and former animator Andreas Deja, who is best known for helping to bring some of the most evil Disney Villains to life onscreen, such as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Jafar in Aladdin, and Scar in The Lion King, announced that he was officially consulting on the project. The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure (Hollywood Studios)
Replacing Voyage of the Little Mermaid, this updated live production blends:

Muppet Labs penguins and classic Muppet humor pop up along the ride.

Exterior guitar updated with groovy, colorful designs.

The Magic of Disney Animation (Hollywood Studios)
Replacing Star Wars Launch Bay, this attraction pays tribute to Walt Disney Animation Studios:

Production Gallery – Portraits of characters come to life when you walk by.

Screening Theater – A heartwarming short film celebrating Disney animation.

Interactive Drawing Classes – Guests learn to draw Disney characters and then meet them in person.

Sorcerer Mickey Hat – Returning as the icon of the land!

That’s a ton of new Disney magic on the way — and the luncheon ended on a perfect note with a live performance of “When You Wish Upon a Star” and rare photo ops with Pinocchio, Geppetto, and Jiminy Cricket together.
