The real life spy story of Dr. Julio Antonio del Marmol has been available in both novel and graphic form but now Cuban Lightning Enterprises is working with Smorgasbord Productions to adapt the story as a multi-part animated motion comic. The first episode “The Fiasco” follows the spy’s arrest by the United States Secret Service on a counterfeiting charge. Unable to uncover his true identity, the story travels back decades to his life as a deeply implanted spy for the West in the Castro regime. The story follows an assassination attempt on Castro that goes horribly wrong and leads to the Cuban Lightning’s cover being blown.
