🎨✨ Bionic Buzz® covered the world-famous San Diego Comic-Con 2026, where we participated in a roundtable interview with Dr. Ryan Linkof, Senior Curator and Head of Film Programs at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. Dr. Linkof discussed the process of curating exhibitions for the museum, what it is like collaborating with George Lucas, Star Wars in Motion, the museum’s film collection and galleries, his book Queer Lens: A History of Photography, working with filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, and much more.

The Lucas Museum’s Inaugural Film Program:

Ahead of its grand opening on September 22, 2026, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art revealed its inaugural Film Program during San Diego Comic-Con.

The announcement was made during a Hall H panel featuring Dr. Ryan Linkof; Stoopid Buddy Stoodios’ Seth Green and Matthew Senreich; DC President, Publisher, and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee; and moderator Keke Palmer.

The program will explore cinema as both a powerful storytelling medium and an innovative technology for creating moving visual experiences. Two state-of-the-art theaters—the Robert Flaherty Theater and the Slavko Vorkapich Theater—will screen curated films continuously throughout the day. Visitors will be able to enter and leave freely, creating an open-door experience similar to exploring a museum gallery.

Co-founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art celebrates the universal tradition of storytelling through images. Its collection and exhibitions explore visual storytelling across history, from prehistoric cave paintings to contemporary screen art.

Located in Los Angeles’ Exposition Park, the museum occupies a 300,000-square-foot building designed by Ma Yansong of MAD, with Stantec serving as executive architect. The building is surrounded by an 11-acre campus and park designed by Mia Lehrer and Studio-MLA, creating a community gathering place that extends the museum’s educational programming outdoors.
