Omni Cultural Tv Fest, in partnership with NATPE (National Association of Television Program Executives), will host its 3rd annual TV Fest on Thursday, Feb 24, 2022. The virtual festival will take place in the Omni-Verse, a Sims-like virtual world where guests build customizable avatars and participate in the expo from the comfort of their own homes.

The festival will host virtual screenings, panels, competitions, workshops, and networking opportunities that connect global and diverse content creators with buyers and distributors looking to acquire new television, film, and streaming content.

Our goal is to make it easy for buyers and distributors to have access to multi-cultural content producers and their work” said festival co-founder Kiki Melendez. “We basically want to serve this content on a silver platter to those with the power to buy and sell intellectual property.”

Over the past two years, the exclusive, one-day expo has screened over 200 projects, and some of the festival winners have signed deals with companies such as Amazon Video and ShortsTV.

It’s inspiring to see submissions come in from all over the world,” said festival co-founder Cindy Cowan. “It’s a dream come true knowing that we are helping writers and producers get their work in front of executives that can help them bring their projects to life.

This year the festival aims to increase deal-making success for content producers with Pitch-It!—a virtual pitch session where content producers from all experience levels will receive feedback on their pitches from industry representatives from networks, studios, production companies, and streaming services.

The Omni-cultural TV Fest has emerged as an important event, aligned with NATPE’s core values of excellence, respect, inclusion, community, and collaboration. We are excited to partner with the TV Fest and help connect diverse creators with the content industry.”

Joining the festival as partners this year is The American-Chinese CEO Society, as well as James White, CEO of Jim White Enterprises and former singer with the Four Tops.

The deadline to sign up for Pitch-It! is Sunday, January 15th, 2022. Via Eventbrite and Filmfreeway.
