Bionic Buzz® got to cover the ONYX Magazine’s red carpet at Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

The event was put on by Orlando Community Arts, Inc. It is a holiday favorite and urban adaption of the classical Nutcracker story written by E.T.A. Hoffman. This holiday production captures the rich pageantry of traditions and flair that highlights cultural diversity in Central Florida.

The audience took a magical journey with Clare, as she travels with the Chocolate Nutcracker and the Sugar Plum Fairy on an adventure through various cultures and magical lands to their destination, the Kingdom of Toys. Their journey is filled with dances of ballet, jazz, hip hop, and gospel. The cast featured Inez Patricia School of Dance, Artistic Director Jere’ James, the Chocolate Nutcracker Prince—Dominiq Luckie, a member of Ballet Memphis—and local community youth from the Central Florida community.

ONYX Magazine is the premier magazine that celebrates the accomplishments of African-Americans and those of the African diaspora throughout Florida. They were a proud sponsor of the Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker.

On the red carpet our host Monica May got to interview family and friends at the event.
