Our interview with musician, actor & producer Billy Blair (Machete, The Gifted, MacGyver & The Last Stand) who stars in the new movie Alita: Battle Angel. An action-packed story of one young woman’s journey to discover the truth of who she is and her fight to change the world. Screenplay and produced by James Cameron and directed by Robert Rodriguez. Alita: Battle Angel arrives in theaters February 14th. By @SteveSievers

(Bionic Buzz) Billy, this is the 4th time you have worked with director Robert Rodriguez. What’s it like working with such a legendary director writer & producer?

(Billy Blair) It’s a dream come true, and it is good to know that he uses actors that he trusts and can deliver, over and over again. Every time I hear he’s putting something together, I contact him to inquire if he has anything I can read for. So far he’s booked me in everything since Machete. Robert is a cool dude to work with.

What can you tell us about your character in Alita: Battle Angel?

I play Zapan’s (Ed Skrein) ‘Cronie’, part cyborg, part man and we are bounty hunters. You will see me in almost every scene with Zapan.

Tell us your experience at the world premiere in Los Angeles and the after party? (Check out photos below from the after party)

The premiers are always fun. The cast and many other beautiful people are there. The after party is where it’s at. One gets a chance to rub shoulders with the directors and producers and other actors. There were a lot of photos being taken both by professional photographers and everyone using their mobile phones. Someone ordered shots and well,  who wants to pass up doing a shot with James Cameron.

Besides an actor, you are a very talented musician and are in the band JUNK on Zombie Shark Records. What’s coming up with the band?

Why thank you! Right now we are writing new material and also getting ready for our first show of the year at Rocklahoma. We’re also putting together a tour for the summer with a few other bands. One of them is legendary. I can’t say quite yet but stay tuned on our social media platforms, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Reverbnation, all under JunkTx.

What future film roles can fans see you in?

I am in the new Rob Zombie film, ‘3 From Hell‘ (see photo from set) and I can’t wait for the fans to see it. They are in for a treat.  I also have a movie out right now that I produced and star in, titled, Cherokee Creek. It came out this past Christmas and is on iTunes, VUDU, Amazon and Google Play.
