EMMY® NOMINATED CAST OF HACKS PERFORMED A SURPRISE STAND-UP COMEDY SET OUTSIDE THE COMEDY STORE

Comedy enthusiasts waiting in line for the 8pm show on Saturday night outside the iconic Comedy Store on Sunset were treated to a surprise pop-up comedy set performed by the Emmy® nominated cast and creators of the hit show HACKS from atop a double decker open air bus. From the HACKS cast, Emmy® nominee Carl Clemons-Hopkins, along with Meg Stalter were joined by creators Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky, and consulting producer writer/comedian Joe Mande.

Comedy enthusiasts waiting in line for the 8pm show on Saturday night outside the iconic Comedy Store on Sunset were treated to a surprise pop-up comedy set performed by the Emmy® nominated cast and creators of the hit show HACKS from atop a double decker open air bus. From the HACKS cast, Emmy® nominee Carl Clemons-Hopkins, along with Meg Stalter were joined by creators Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky, and consulting producer writer/comedian Joe Mande. From atop the “Hacks” themed bus, a DJ spun some records and then introduced the HACKS team who performed their comedy schtick to the delighted guests who lined the sidewalk enjoying the surprise prelude to their evening of comedy.

About HACKS HACKS explores a dark mentorship that forms between Deborah Vance (three-time Emmy winner and current nominee Jean Smart), a legendary Las Vegas comedian, and an entitled, outcast 25-year-old (Hannah Einbinder). The 10-episode first season was recently nominated for 15 Emmy® nominations and is certified fresh by Rotten Tomatoes. The series is created and showrun by Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky. It is executive produced by Downs and Aniello via their Paulilu banner, Statsky via First Thought Productions, as well as Emmy® winners Michael Schur via Fremulon, David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment and Morgan Sackett. The series is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, and airs on HBO Max.
