Teddy is thrilled to announce his debut, self-titled album Teddy is set to release on Friday, April 26th, via Autnmy Records. Today, he gives fans a glimpse into the album with a visual for the opening track, ‘Intro (Castle Life).’

Co-directed by Teddy, the ‘Intro (Castle Life)’ visual introduces fans to three Teddys – Teddy today, Teddy as a kid, and the newly formed Prince Tedward, a doctored teddy bear meets baby doll found in the album artwork.

The video blends innocence with self-discovery and captures the cinematic essence found throughout Teddy.

“As kids, we’re so beautifully unaware of ourselves, which creates a perfect storm of creation and destruction that I think every artist hopes to achieve in their own way. As I’ve grown,

I’ve felt the pressure to become more self-aware and explore my subconscious to gain a better understanding of myself and my surroundings. The intro for my project is a physical abstraction of this idea of self-discovery by watching how I orchestrated myself and my surroundings as a kid and seeing how I’ve changed and even ways I haven’t. So yea, the birth of Prince Tedward is complete.” Teddy

Teddy is 10 tracks of Teddy’s most elevated work to date, as he explores rock elements outside of his usual repertoire. In one song he blends surf rock guitar licks with bass heavy trap beats and next gives listeners a delicate, acoustic heartbreak song. It’s an alternative record at heart with shining elements of hip hop.

In early 2019, Teddy shared his single ‘Crying Love’ with a visual from James DeFina (Post Malone, Rich Brian). The single closely followed his Castle With No Light EP and ‘Broken Hearts / Taste Me’single pack, which received acclaim from Beats 1, AltPress, Brooklyn Vegan and more. Creating an ethereal musical landscape with wavy synth pads and Teddy’s snarling vocal, the singer-rapper is best known for his collaborations with producers Smokeasac and Canto.

Looking forward, Teddy has been announced to perform at the renowned Reading and Leeds Festivalthis August. This will be his first live performance since supporting Fat Nick’s GENERATION NUMB tour with Bexey.
